Camp Chetek
Can't wait til camp season!
Camp Chetek has been my training ground for the past four years. Almost every experience I have had with ministry has related in some way to Chetek. All of the different retreats and work weekends we have taken Maranatha Students to have been a blast.
This past summer, I was a lead counselor, and I loved it - so much so, that I want to come back this summer and give it another try, now that I know what I am doing. I love working with the counselors and see them develop their counseling skills as different situations arise, and they must trust the Lord to provide wisdom for each of these situations. The best part is always the preaching - this past summer we had several great speakers. This summer we have a great line-up, and I am already excited about the decisions that will be made during the different retreats we have coming up, like Truth Weekend, and Winter Retreats.
One thing that I enjoy is designing different stuff for camp. This T-shirt came about this summer when some summer staff and myself were checking out iStockphoto. We typed in "retro" and came across this style of design and I put it together. It went over really well.
Another design I was able to do was the Team T-shirts. The blue "Dukes" and the red "Cavaliers" ended the summer in a tie (3-3). David Mulder was the lead counselor for the Cavaliers, I was the Dukes' team leader. I am not really sure what a Cavalier is - something like a French Knight, Whereas, a duke is a nobleman, of the highest rank below the king or queen. Either way, we still ended in a tie. This summer, one team will win.

The website is in need of an overhaul - especially the backend. (Marc, let's work on that in our spare time...er...)
